Ahead of the second launch of Pharrell and adidas’s NMD collaboration. We take a quick look at what the collection offers
Whilst the NMD collection has proved to be a huge success, the Pharrell Hu collection has taken things to a new level. Across the chosen silhouette, a white Boost midsole meets a breathable and flexible Primeknit upper, this time presented in five different colours: scarlet, black, sharp blue, green, and tangerine. The split typography graphics across the forefoot make for a bold, brave visual element, showing off the confidence of the design: each color is printed with its own split slogan, such as ‘Hu Race’, ‘Human Species’, or ‘Hue Man’. The special lace system goes through the cage of the stabilizer to create a moccasin style, giving support as well as freedom right where it’s needed. The release is furnished with two sets of laces and an insole with a graphic designed by Pharrell Williams. The classic Trefoil logo on the right heel tab and the partnership’s equal sign on the left heel tab round off the design perfectly. The end result looks perfect – all that remains is to pick the colour that suits you best!
For this new collection, there’s a set of accompanying apparel as well, comprising of 14 pieces. This includes the full-zip jacket and half-zip anorak – both of which are composed of a fully reflective woven outerwear material and feature Velcro side fasteners and packable hoods. The iconic adidas Originals Firebird track jacket and pant get an update with reflective 3-stripes, embroidered Japanese characters, and heat-transferred, reflective slogans. The crew sweat and legging offer engineered, form-fitting looks along with multicolored flag labels and reflective phrases.
The collection drops 29th September, the average price is set at around £180-200. All will fly off the shelves as Adidas continue to step ahead in the quick release market.
